Re: Matariki Celebration 27 June 2024

Next Thursday 27th June, we are having a special Matariki Celebration at Ōwhata School.

From 11am – all tamariki will be involved in a special assembly and this will go on until 12:30pm. We have been practicing a new waiata to perform as a whole school.

At 12:30pm, tamariki will go back to class for a special kai and we will have kai for whānau members available in the hall.

We are putting on a BBQ kai for all whānau visitors so RSVP by emailing owhatamatariki2024@gmail.com to let us know how many whānau members will be attending. Please do so by Monday 24th June.

During the lunch break our tamariki would love to show whānau through their classrooms to look at the Matariki mahi we have been working on.

After lunch 1.30pm, our tamariki will be preparing for our Colour Fun Run and will need a change of clothes for this (no school uniform for the run). We will be using powdered paints during the run and it might get a bit messy!

The day will finish at 2.30pm so that our bus tamariki can get organised. Whānau who are present can take their tamariki straight after the Colour Fun Run.
